Visit to Lok Adalat, Bareilly


On August 13, 2022, students from the Department of Law embarked on a visit to the Lok Adalat in Bareilly as part of their educational experience. The purpose of the visit was to provide the students with an opportunity to witness the functioning of the Lok Adalat, which plays a crucial role in the Indian legal system.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by the court staff and judges. They were given an insightful briefing on the concept and significance of Lok Adalats in resolving legal disputes through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. The students observed several ongoing cases, gaining practical knowledge about the mediation and conciliation processes adopted during the proceedings.

Interacting with the litigants and their lawyers, the students grasped the importance of amicable settlements and the role of the Lok Adalat in reducing the burden on the conventional courts. The visit proved to be an eye-opening experience, enabling the students to understand the real-world implications of legal principles and procedures they had studied in the classroom.

Overall, the visit to Lok Adalat, Bareilly, was immensely beneficial, offering the students valuable insights into the functioning of our justice system and reinforcing the significance of peaceful dispute resolution. The Department of Law intends to organize more such visits to enhance the practical understanding and skills of its students in the field of law.
