ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Production Engineering is a branch of mechanical engineering that deals with the manufacturing technology related with industrial products. Production engineers work to maintain plants and machine components, operations process management and industrial organisation.

Professionals in this field are in demand in the automobile, refinery, and manufacturing industries, research labs, etc. This subset of mechanical engineering is gaining traction in today’s world as need for specialists in production engineering is rising in both private and public sector enterprises.

The three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering – Production programme offered by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, which is one of the best colleges for polytechnic in UP, is aimed at giving students knowledge of basic production and manufacturing processes. They improve their personal competence portfolio in production and management engineering, and acquire skills in planning and production control, and machine operations. The programme comprises the subjects such as Fundamentals of Mechanics, Physics, Computers, Fundamentals of Mechanical and Civil Engineering, Electronics and Electricals, Material Science, Fluids, Mechanics, Foundry and Wielding Process, Thermal Engineering, Measurement and Metrology, Heat Transfer, Modern Manufacturing Process, and Machine Design.

Practical lab work at one of the top polytechnic colleges in Bareilly is conducted in the areas of machine drawing, thermal engineering, fluid mechanics and foundry, mechanical engineering, workshop practice and computers. Industrial training projects followed by viva voce are conducted for assessment purposes. Students also participate in workshops on CAD/CAM, refrigeration and air conditioning, and metal cutting. They master basic skills in design, manufacturing and assembling, debugging die, mould and operating and maintaining relevant equipment.
