Centre of Excellence

A Centre of Excellence (COE) supported by industry leaders like Ultra Tech Cement (A big plyer in the cement industry and part of the Aditya Birla Group) not only enhances educational opportunities but also fosters innovation and collaboration between academia and industry. Through this partnership, students and faculty can access cutting-edge technologies and insights, driving advancements in sustainable construction practices. By prioritizing hands-on training, the COE empowers future engineers to address the challenges of climate change and resource depletion, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable built environment.

Soil Mechanics Lab

Soil Mechanics Lab is a facility dedicated in the department to studying the properties and behavior of soil materials. Student get hands-on experimentation and analysis of soil samples to determine their physical and mechanical characteristics. Students use various tests, such as triaxial, consolidation, and direct shear tests, to assess soil stability, bearing capacity, and settlement, crucial in geotechnical engineering and construction projects.

Concrete Technology Lab

The Concrete Technology Lab focuses on the study of concrete and its constituent materials. It offers practical experiments to investigate the properties and performance of concrete mixes, including compressive strength, workability, and durability. Through this lab, students and researchers gain insights into optimizing concrete formulations, understanding its behavior under different conditions, and exploring advancements in concrete technology and admixtures.

Transportation Engineering Lab

The Transportation Engineering Lab is dedicated to explore the principles and practices related to transportation infrastructure. It enables students and researchers to conduct experiments on road materials, traffic flow analysis, and pavement design. This lab plays a vital role in assessing the performance of roadways and transportation systems, allowing for the development of efficient and safe transportation networks.

Environmental Engineering Lab

The Environmental Engineering Lab focuses on analyzing and addressing environmental challenges. It provides facilities for testing water, air, and soil samples to assess pollution levels, water quality, and waste management techniques. Students and researchers work on projects related to environmental protection, remediation, and sustainable solutions to preserve and enhance the environment.

Strength of Material Lab

The Strength of Material Lab deals with the mechanical properties of engineering materials, particularly the behavior of materials under various loading conditions. It offers experiments to study the strength, elasticity, and deformation of materials like metals, polymers, and composites. By understanding material characteristics, engineers can design structures and components that can withstand applied forces and loads effectively.

Hydraulics Lab

The Hydraulics Lab is dedicated to understanding the behavior of fluids and their applications in engineering. It provides facilities for experiments on fluid flow, open channel hydraulics, and pipe networks. Students and researchers can analyze hydraulic phenomena, design water distribution systems, and explore fluid mechanics principles to solve practical engineering problems.

Surveying Lab

The Surveying Lab focuses on the techniques and instruments used to measure and map the Earth's surface. It offers practical training in land surveying methods, including total station surveys, leveling, and GPS measurements. Students and researchers learn to collect accurate spatial data for engineering projects, land development, and construction activities. The lab plays a crucial role in producing detailed topographic maps and facilitating precise layout and alignment of structures.

The RCC Lab is dedicated to the study and analysis of reinforced concrete structures. It provides facilities for testing the mechanical properties of reinforced concrete beams, columns, and slabs. Students and researchers perform experiments to assess the strength, durability, and load-carrying capacity of concrete elements reinforced with steel bars or mesh. This lab assists in understanding the behavior of concrete under different loading conditions and ensures the safe and efficient design of reinforced concrete structures in construction projects.
