Dr. Deepak Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Invertis University, with over a decade of research experience in virology and molecular biology. He holds a Ph.D. in Virology from Shiv Nadar University, where his doctoral research focused on genome-wide mutagenesis of Hepatitis C virus and the ability of viral genomes to tolerate and overcome detrimental mutations.

He subsequently gained postdoctoral research experience at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and the University of Louisville, USA. At IIT Bombay, his research focused on the structural and functional characterization of bacteriophage pore-forming proteins and the role of holin proteins in bacteriophage phenotypes. At the University of Louisville, his work focused on understanding the mechanism of action of NHC and investigating the development of antiviral resistance in Chikungunya virus.

His research expertise includes viral evolution, antiviral resistance, reverse genetics, genome-wide mutagenesis, and host–pathogen interactions. At Invertis University, he contributes to academic teaching and the development of scientific programmes in the life sciences. His research has resulted in multiple peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognized journals, including the Journal of Virology and Journal of General Virology.
