Dr. Ajitanshu Vedrtnam is a materials scientist and Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow with expertise in sustainable construction, carbon capture, and self-healing composites. He holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering (B.E.), Marketing (MBA), and Manufacturing Engineering (M.E., Gold Medalist), as well as a Ph.D. in Applied Mechanics and a GATE qualification in Mechanical Engineering. His professional journey spans academia, research, and industry, with collaborations across Europe, Asia, and North America. He has held prestigious fellowships, including Marie-Curie grants from the European Union and postdoctoral positions at institutions such as the University of California Berkeley (USA), National University of Ireland (Galway), Slovak Academy of Sciences, Polish Academy of Sciences, Singapore Research Foundation, Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, and the Institute of Advanced Materials (Sweden). Dr. Vedrtnam has secured over INR 110 million in competitive research funding from national and international agencies, including the DST (India), EU Horizon 2020, IC IMPACT (Canada), Science Foundation Ireland, and others. He has authored more than 120 publications, including over 70 high-impact journal articles, several patents, and four books. Actively engaged in translational research, his work addresses critical challenges in structural materials, energy systems, and environmental sustainability. He regularly contributes as a scientific evaluator and expert panelist for government and private bodies, and serves on multiple Ph.D. committees. He has delivered over 100 invited, keynote, and plenary talks at international forums and supervises research across domains such as cement-based composites, energy storage, biofuels, structural glass, additive manufacturing, and aerodynamics.
