World Pharmacist Day 2026 Highlights the Evolving Role of Pharmacists
Students of the Invertis Institute of Pharmacy, Invertis University, observed World Pharmacist Day 2026 with a programme focused on professional responsibility, healthcare awareness and practical skills. Held at Seminar Hall-1, the event followed the theme “Empowering Pharmacists for Healthier Future” and brought together students and faculty members.
The programme was attended by Prof. Y. D. S. Arya, Vice Chancellor, Invertis University, along with Dr. Neelanchal Trivedi, Principal Pharmacy and Dr. Surabhi Sharma, HOD Pharmacy and faculty members.
The programme began with the Pharmacist Oath, administered by Prof. Dr. Neelanchal Trivedi. The oath marked the students’ commitment to the principles of the pharmacy profession and their responsibility towards patient care, society and public health.
A Debate Competition followed, giving students an opportunity to discuss contemporary issues related to pharmacy and healthcare. The activity encouraged participants to put forward their views while developing communication, critical thinking and confidence.
The celebration also included a First Aid Competition, where students demonstrated their understanding of basic emergency-care practices. The activity focused on practical knowledge, teamwork, decision-making and preparedness in situations requiring immediate assistance.
In the debate competition, Vinay Kumar, Anshu Biswas, Riddhima Dixit, Annanya Tiwari and Atul Ruhela of B.Pharm. fourth year secured first position. Saburi Pathak, Ayushi Shukla, Herdyansh Pandey, Ujjwal Varshney and Ansh Sharma of B.Pharm. third year secured second position, while Mariyam Mirza, Hammad Khan, Sumail Khan and Anumeha Mishra of B.Pharm. third year secured third position.
In the First Aid Competition, Keshav and Dev of B.Pharm. first year secured first position. Shivang, Shivahish and Ankit Yadav, also from B.Pharm. first year, secured second position, while Tayyaba, Namneet Kaur and Anshika Rathore of D.Pharm. first year secured third position.
The programme provided pharmacy students with a combination of professional reflection, discussion and practical learning. Through the oath, debate and first-aid activities, the celebration connected the responsibilities of pharmacists with communication, decision-making and preparedness in healthcare settings.
The event concluded with recognition of the participating students and their efforts, reinforcing the importance of developing both professional knowledge and practical skills as students prepare for careers in pharmacy.
