World Ozone Day 2026 Celebration at Invertis University

The Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities, Invertis University, Bareilly, organised a programme to mark World Ozone Day 2026 on the theme “Global Action for a Cooler Planet.” The programme focused on the importance of the ozone layer, ozone depletion, ultraviolet radiation, climate change and environmental sustainability.
The programme featured OZONE QUEST 2026, an Ozone Knowledge Quiz Competition, along with a Poster/PPT Presentation Competition. Students explored topics including ozone layer protection, UV radiation, the Montreal Protocol, climate change and sustainable environmental practices through the competitions.
The activities gave students an opportunity to demonstrate their scientific knowledge and creativity while developing communication and presentation skills. The presentations also encouraged discussion around the importance of protecting the ozone layer and the role of collective action in addressing environmental challenges.
The programme followed the message “Know • Express • Compete • Act,” encouraging students to connect scientific understanding with responsible environmental practices.
The event was organised under the leadership of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Umesh Gautam and Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Mr. Parth Gautam. Vice Chancellor Prof. Y.D.S. Arya, Dean, Faculty of Sciences Prof. P.P. Singh, and Head of the Department Dr. Suchita Gupta were present along with faculty members and students. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Rahul Soni, Convenor, World Ozone Day 2026.
The celebration provided students with an interactive platform to learn about ozone protection while expressing their understanding through quizzes and presentations. It also reflected the Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities’ focus on scientific learning and environmental awareness.
