Events

The Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, Invertis University, organised a two-day celebration of World Mental Health Day 2026 on October 5 and 6 under the theme “Building Happy & Resilient Youth.” The programme brought together psychological activities, creative exercises and an expert lecture to encourage mental health awareness, emotional well-being and resilience among students.

The first day featured interactive activities conducted by Psychology students from different semesters. Participants explored psychological assessments, including Raven’s Progressive Matrices, the Perceived Stress Scale, Alexander Pass-Along Test, Maze Learning Test and Tachistoscope. Students from various departments took part in these activities, gaining exposure to psychological concepts through practical engagement.

A Nukkad Natak addressed issues such as exam anxiety, peer pressure, emotional resilience and the importance of seeking professional help. Creative and reflective activities, including Wall of Hope, Feeling in Bloom, Unspoken Canvas, Face Painting, Graphology and What’s on Your Spotify?, encouraged students to express themselves and reflect on their emotions and personal experiences. Ring In & Out was among the other activities organised during the day.

The second day featured an expert lecture titled “Building Happy & Resilient Youth,” delivered by Ms. Gagandeep Kaur Sethi, an RCI-registered clinical psychologist and Founder/Director of Unique Psychological Services, Delhi. The interactive session gave students an opportunity to engage with a mental health professional and reflect on emotional well-being, resilience and psychological development.

The programme was attended by Prof. Y. D. S. Arya, Vice Chancellor; Prof. P. P. Singh, Dean, Faculty of Science; and Dr. Suchita Gupta, Head, Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, along with faculty members and students.

The celebration was coordinated by Ms. Divyanshi Rana, Convenor, and Mr. Aman Prajapati, Co-Convenor, with the support of Dr. Shivi Tyagi, faculty member in the Department of Psychology. Psychology students contributed as volunteers and activity coordinators throughout the programme.
