Wardrobe Without Waste: Zero Waste Design Challenge

The Department of Fashion Design, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Invertis University, organized an intradepartmental competition titled “Wardrobe Without Waste: Zero Waste Design Challenge” on 20th January 2026. The event was conducted under the guidance and encouragement of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Umesh Gautam and Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Mr. Parth Gautam, with the objective of promoting sustainable and responsible fashion practices among students.
Students from all three years actively participated and showcased their creativity by designing garments directly on mannequins using zero-waste techniques, innovative draping, and creative fastening methods. The competition witnessed remarkable performances, with Sumanpreet Kaur (III Year) winning the First Prize, Anunaina Saxena (III Year) securing the Second Prize, and Vaishnavi Rastogi (I Year) receiving the Third Prize. Priya Sharma (II Year) and Mahek Sahu (I Year) were awarded the First and Second Consolation Prizes, respectively.
The event was judged by Dr. Lovi Singh, Additional Dean, Student Welfare, and conducted under the guidance of Prof. P. P. Singh, Dean, Faculty of Science. The competition provided students with hands-on exposure to sustainable fashion practices and encouraged innovative and eco-conscious design thinking.
