Event Description
A guest lecture was organized on the topic - Synthetic Chemist and Our Society by Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities on 25.05.2021.
The Speaker of this guest lecture was Prof. Vinod Kumar Tiwari from Department of Chemistry, Banaras Hindu University. The event started with a formal address from Prof. P P Singh, Dean Faculty of Sciences. Dr Tiwari addressed the audience and explained about some particular type of organic molecules associated with day-to-day life experiences, and which are responsible for some of our feelings such as happiness, fear, love, jealousy, excitement etc. The speaker also elaborated different ways to prepare carbohydrate-based molecules and dendrimer molecules. The guest lecture was followed by interactive question answer sessions where several students and Faculty members were involved in an active discussion.
The students of B.Sc. PCM, B.Sc. ZBC, B.Sc. Hons, M.Sc. Chemistry and several faculty members participated in the event. The event was organized by Dr. Kamlesh Kumar Duby, HOD of Applied Sciences and Humanities and conducted by Dr Sandeepan Maity.
