ONLINE GUEST LECTURE ON CYBER CRIME ORGANISED BY B.COM DEPARTMENT ON 20TH APRIL 2021

With a view to impart knowledge about the latest trends in the socio-economic environment, B.Com Department organized an Online Guest Lecture on “Cyber Crime” on 20th April, 2021 for the students of B.Com (H) in Financial Markets (2nd and 3rd Year). The Lecture was delivered by Mr. R.K. Agarwal (Retd. Banker, Bank of India).

Mr. Agarwal began by asking students the meaning of crime and what do they understand by cyber crime. According to him, cyber crime is criminal activity that targets or uses a computer, a computer network or a networked device. He gave a detailed overview how it is possible for hackers to commit online frauds and how we can secure our network from the same.

Further he explained the different types of cyber attacks like malware attacks, phishing, denial of service, etc. He also told the techniques to safeguard from such attacks. He discussed various instances from the practical life where we can use internet more responsibly.

We extend our deep gratitude to Mr. R. K. Agarwal who really made the students understand the importance of online safety and measures to mitigate cyber attacks. The lecture was proved to be fruitful under the guidance of Dr. Umesh Gautam (Honourable Chancellor), Prof. YDS Arya (Vice-Chancellor), Dr. Manish Gupta (Dean Management), Dr. Dheeraj Gandhi (HOD, B.Com Department), Mr. Naveen Agarwal (Organizer) and other department faculty members.
