Online Guest Lecture on “Beyond the Textbook: How AI, Ethics, and Your Fundamentals Shape Modern Drug Discovery”

The Department of Biotechnology, Invertis University, Bareilly, successfully conducted an online guest lecture on 6th February 2026 for its undergraduate and postgraduate students. The session was organized under the guidance and encouragement of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Umesh Gautam and Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Mr. Parth Gautam.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Subhomoi Borkotoky, CSIR Pool Scientist, Kusuma School of Biological Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. He provided valuable insights into the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence in modern drug discovery, highlighting applications such as protein targeting studies and protein–protein interaction analysis.
During the session, the speaker explained core concepts of AI and Machine Learning, supported by contemporary research examples, and discussed emerging ethical challenges and future opportunities for students interested in AI-driven biological research.
The lecture proved to be highly informative and beneficial, offering students a deeper understanding of how AI, ethical considerations, and strong biological fundamentals together shape the future of drug discovery.
