Journalism Students Honour Teachers Through Cultural Performances and Felicitations

Events

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication celebrated Teachers’ Day 2026 with cultural performances and a special felicitation programme to express students’ gratitude towards their teachers.

The celebration brought together students and faculty members in recognition of the role teachers play in guiding students through their academic and professional journeys. Students presented creative and cultural performances, while teachers were honoured with mementos and gifts as a gesture of appreciation.

Third-year students coordinated the programme, while first-year students actively participated in the performances. The involvement of students across different years made the celebration an opportunity to express respect for faculty members and strengthen bonds within the department.

Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Dean, Journalism and Mass Communication, and Dr. Lalit Kumar, Head of the Department, extended their best wishes to the students for their future. They encouraged students to value the guidance of their teachers and maintain positive relationships built on mutual respect and learning.

Faculty members Dr. Nidhi Gupta and Ms. Yashika Gupta, along with Mr. Ranjeet Sharma, Media Lab Instructor, were also present at the celebration.

The programme concluded with enthusiastic participation from students across all years. Through performances and felicitations, the celebration recognised the contribution of teachers to students’ growth and highlighted the importance of trust, encouragement and mutual respect in the teacher-student relationship.
