Journalism Students Explore Diverse Reads at Load the Box Book Fair 2026

Students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication visited the Load the Box Book Fair 2026 at City Center, Civil Lines, to explore a wide range of books and develop a deeper interest in reading.
The educational visit introduced students to books across genres, including fiction, romance, non-fiction, thrillers, crime and young adult literature. As they browsed the collection, students explored different writing styles, themes and storytelling approaches. Many also purchased books based on their personal interests.
With more than one million books across over 20 categories, the fair offered students an opportunity to discover new authors, subjects and perspectives beyond their classroom studies. For aspiring media professionals, exposure to varied forms of writing can also help broaden their understanding of language, storytelling and audience interests.
The visit was organised under the guidance of Chancellor Dr. Umesh Gautam and Pro-Chancellor Mr. Parth Gautam. Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Dean, Journalism and Mass Communication, and Dr. Lalit Kumar, Head of the Department, accompanied the initiative alongside faculty members and students.
The educational outing encouraged students to explore books at their own pace and choose reading material aligned with their interests. It also provided a change of setting from regular academic activities, allowing them to engage directly with a diverse collection of published works.
The visit concluded as an engaging learning experience, reinforcing the value of reading in expanding knowledge, discovering new ideas and developing an informed perspective qualities that remain important in journalism and mass communication.
