Team VayuCops of Invertis University has secured a Top 4 finish at the Grand Finale of HAL x IIT Indore Aerothon 2026, giving the university a strong result at a national-level aerospace technology competition.

The team comprises Divyanshi, Vaishnavi and Vishal Raj, third-year students of B.Tech. Artificial Intelligence. They were among the 25 teams selected for the Grand Finale after nearly 1,000 teams from across the country took part in the competition. The finale was held at IIT Indore on August 7 and 8, 2026.

VayuCops was the only non-IIT team among the 25 finalists. The team went on to finish in the Top 4, competing alongside teams representing leading technical institutions.

The students developed a real-time, four-stage turbojet health monitoring system based on Physics-based Digital Twin technology. Their project uses a digital representation of a jet engine to support health monitoring through physics-based modelling and real-time data.

The work addresses an important requirement in aviation: monitoring engine condition and performance more efficiently and reliably. The project also brings together artificial intelligence, digital twin technology and engineering concepts to address a practical aerospace application.

The Grand Finale gave the three students an opportunity to present their work on a national platform before a technical audience. Their selection as the only non-IIT team among the 25 finalists, followed by the Top 4 finish, marked a notable result for the university's B.Tech. Artificial Intelligence students.

The team acknowledged the guidance and encouragement of Chancellor Dr. Umesh Gautam and Pro-Chancellor Parth Gautam. Prof. R.K. Shukla, Dean of Engineering, and Talha Khan, Director, Industry Partnerships & CSED, also congratulated the students and extended their best wishes.

Aerothon 2026 was organised by IIT Indore and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). The competition brought together student teams working on technology-oriented solutions for the aerospace sector.

For VayuCops, the Top 4 finish represents the outcome of applying classroom knowledge to a specialised engineering problem. The achievement also gives the three students national-level exposure in an area where artificial intelligence, simulation and digital technologies are increasingly finding practical applications.
