The Department of Law at Invertis University, Bareilly, in association with the Invertis Law Society, organised an educational visit to the Lok Adalat at the District Court, Bareilly, on September 12, 2026. The visit gave law students an opportunity to observe the functioning of Lok Adalat and understand the role of alternative dispute resolution in resolving disputes through accessible and timely mechanisms.

As part of the initiative, students also presented an awareness Nukkad Natak on Lok Adalat at the request of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Bareilly. Through the street play, students addressed the public on the purpose of Lok Adalat, amicable settlement of disputes, alternative dispute resolution and the availability of legal services.

The use of street theatre provided students with a direct way to communicate legal information to the public. It also allowed them to apply their legal understanding in a community setting while developing confidence, communication and presentation skills.

The students were accompanied and coordinated by Mr. Moiz, Invertis Law Society Coordinator, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Reena Jaiswal, Dean, and Dr. V. N. Sharma, Head, Department of Law.

The visit connected classroom learning with direct exposure to legal proceedings and public legal awareness. It gave participating students a closer understanding of how legal mechanisms such as Lok Adalat function outside the academic environment and how legal education can contribute to community awareness.

The Department of Law and the Invertis Law Society acknowledged the encouragement and support of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Umesh Gautam, Pro-Chancellor Mr. Parth Gautam, and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Y. D. S. Arya.

The initiative combined a court visit with a public awareness activity, giving law students practical exposure to alternative dispute resolution, legal awareness and community-oriented legal education.
