Invertis University Law Students Compete in 12th Intra-Departmental Moot Court Competition
The Department of Law at Invertis University, Bareilly organised the 12th Intra-Departmental Moot Court Competition 2026 on September 7 and 8, 2026, bringing 32 student teams together for two days of courtroom-style advocacy and legal research.
The competition began with preliminary rounds, from which eight teams advanced to the Quarterfinals. The competition then moved through the Semi-Final and Final rounds, giving students an opportunity to argue their cases, present legal submissions and demonstrate their research and advocacy skills.
The Final was contested between DP-7, comprising Ananya Singh, Riddhima Gupta and Fatima Khan, and DP-17, comprising Vishesh Arora, Kirti Bhardwaj and Shubham Kumar. Following the final round, DP-17 was declared the Winner, while DP-7 secured the Runner-Up position.
The Final Round was adjudged by Adv. Shikhar Chanda, Adv. Anjali Gangwar, Adv. Garima Shankhdhar, Adv. Dheeraj Sharma and Adv. Sandhya Khare.
Individual and team awards were also presented. Siddhi Sharma (DP-3) received the Best Mooter/Speaker award, while Rohit Chauhan (DP-16) was recognised as Best Researcher. The Best Memorial award went to DP-32, comprising Raj Mishra, Khushboo and Garima Solanki.
A notable feature of the competition was the involvement of Invertis University alumni as judges, including practicing advocates. Their participation gave students an opportunity to interact with legal professionals who had themselves studied at the university.
The competition was organised under the guidance of Chancellor Dr. Umesh Gautam, Pro-Chancellor Mr. Parth Gautam and Vice Chancellor Prof. Y. D. S. Arya. Mr. Prakhar Saxena served as Convener, with Dr. Rashtrabardhan and Ms. Alpika Verma as Co-Conveners. The event also received support from Dr. Vishwanath Sharma, HOD; Professor Reena Jaiswal, Dean; and Mr. Moiz, Organizing Secretary.
The two-day competition gave law students a platform to practise advocacy, legal research, analytical reasoning and courtroom presentation in a competitive setting.
