Invertis University Celebrates Vishwakarma Puja with Devotion and Engineering Spirit
नमामि विश्वकर्माणं द्विभुजम विश्ववन्दितम।
गृह वास्तु विधातारं महाबलम पराक्रमम।।
प्रसीद विश्वकर्मस्त्वं शिल्प विद्या विशारदम।
दंडपाणे नमस्तुभ्यं तेजो मूर्तिधर प्रभो।।
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Invertis University, celebrated Vishwakarma Puja on September 17, 2026, at the Mechanical Engineering Workshop. The celebration honoured Lord Vishwakarma, revered as the divine architect and craftsman, while highlighting the importance of technology, engineering, precision and innovation.
The programme began with a traditional hawan and puja ceremony, with students and faculty members seeking blessings for safety, creativity and progress in their academic and technical pursuits. The Mechanical Engineering Workshop, which serves as a practical learning space for students, was decorated with traditional marigold garlands and other festive elements for the occasion.
As part of the celebration, workshop machinery and engineering equipment, including lathe machines, milling setups, shaping tools and welding units, were cleaned and prepared for the puja. Students and workshop instructors also offered prayers with their mechanical tools, measuring instruments and other equipment used during practical and technical activities.
The celebration reflected the connection between traditional reverence for craftsmanship and the modern practice of engineering. The occasion encouraged students to approach their technical education with greater responsibility, precision and creativity while recognising the role of engineering in developing innovative solutions.
The gathering also featured the chanting of “Om Vishwakarmane Namah”, seeking blessings for workplace safety, technical advancement and success in the professional journey of students.
The Vishwakarma Puja celebration provided an opportunity for the Department of Mechanical Engineering to bring together its students and faculty in a meaningful observance that combined cultural traditions with the spirit of engineering and technological advancement.
