Event Description

INDUSTRIAL VISIT OF B.COM (H), B.COM & B.COM (H)-FM FINAL YEAR TO CALCOM VISION LIMITED, GREATER NOIDA ON 25TH NOVEMBER 2021

Theoretical knowledge is incomplete without practical exposure. With this objective, B.Com Department in coordination with CRC Department of Invertis University, Bareilly organized an Industrial Visit for the students of B.Com (H), B.Com and B.Com (H) in Financial Markets (3rd Year) to Calcom Vision Ltd., Greater Noida on 25th November 2021. The students were accompanied by two faculty members viz. Mrs. Ruchi Rastogi and Mr. Manmohan Bansal who gave their utmost efforts to make the students learn about the real corporate world.

On reaching the plant, Calcom’s representative Mr. Pankaj Patel guided the students about the company’s tasks and performance. During the visit, the students visited various production and manufacturing units. They were also given a demonstration of both manual and machinery departments. Full-scale LED light manufacturing requires setting up of a large-scale factory set up with a complex process. They were guided about the process initiating from the step of pre-processing of raw materials to mixing of raw materials, segregation, separation of samples and packaging.

LEDs have become an alternative light source to conventional incandescent and fluorescent LED bulbs. The students visited the store of raw materials and were briefed about the SMT process. Further, the manual insertions were made (resistance, location of designing) and also visited the Assembling Section where interchangeable parts were added as semi-finished assembly in a series of batch production and the final assemble was done to procure finished goods. Later on, the manual packaging was done with 50 pieces per pack and the finished goods with defect were dispatched to rework area. In another department this process was carried out with automatic technology. The synchronization of automatic and manual plant helped in employment maintenance. Overall, the industrial visit supplemented and enhanced classroom learning and getting hands on technical knowledge.

We extend our deep gratitude to Mr. Sushil Kumar (MD, Calcom Vision Ltd.), employees and staff who helped us in making the visit comfortable. The visit proved to be fruitful under the guidance of Prof. YDS Arya (Vice Chancellor), Dr. Manish Gupta (Dean Management) and Dr. Dheeraj Gandhi (HOD, B.COM). Also we extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Sarathi Gouda (Director, Corporate Relations) for arranging such knowledge seeking visit.
