Department of Electrical, Electronics & Communication Engineering conducted a webinar to benefit its students through video conferencing.
This guest lecture was addressed by Mr. Abhishek Kumar. He is working in Iljin Electronics India Private Limited, Greater Noida.
In his session, he discussed the concepts of procurement and sourcing of electrical and electronics components. The industrial equipment procurement process essentially covers the steps that a company will take to get the tools it needs for a particular project. Typically, this starts from the moment a request for a purchase is made. As the term implies, sourcing is concerned with finding the best supplier for goods and services. He mentioned that sourcing is the subset of procurement that comes before any purchases are made. Strategic sourcing generally refers to a process of developing supply channels at the greatest value, not just the lowest purchase price.
