Guest Lecture on National Public Relations Day
The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Invertis University arranged a lecture for the students on the day of National Public Relations Day on 21st April 2026
Ms. Amrita Singh Srivastava, Admin and Marcom Head, Invertis University, Bareilly, presented the session on the topic of basic principles of public relations and communication. She stressed that listening comes first, then comes speaking in public relations, which should always be done after careful thinking. She defined public relations as a bilateral communication activity that builds mutual trust among individuals and organizations.
She further stressed that PR is much more than just promotion; it is about creating and maintaining a good image through communication and relationship management. The students took an active part in the session and raised several queries regarding PR practices, communication skills, and career prospects.
The Dean Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sharma stressed the need for listening, comprehending, and speaking effectively. Head of the Department Dr. Lalit Kumar and some students attended the session, which was arranged by Dr. Nidhi Gupta.
It turned out to be quite enlightening and valuable for students.
