The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Invertis University organized a guest lecture on “Media Literacy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” on 10th April 2026 under the guidance of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Umesh Gautam and Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Mr. Parth Gautam.

The session was addressed by senior journalist, editor, and media expert Dr. Pawan Saxena, who emphasized that journalism should be based on facts rather than emotions. He described journalism as a dynamic field that requires confidence, patience, objectivity, and knowledge. He encouraged students to develop media literacy by regularly reading, creating content, and improving their communication and presentation skills.

Dr. Saxena also highlighted the importance of identifying fake news and misleading information in the age of artificial intelligence and digital media. He explained how AI is changing journalism and stressed the need for fact-checking and ethical reporting. Students actively participated in the session and asked questions related to the role of AI in journalism and media.

Dean Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sharma spoke about Dr. Pawan Saxena’s achievements and contributions to journalism. Head of the Department Dr. Lalit Kumar emphasized the importance of identifying fake and real news in today’s media environment.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Nidhi Gupta in the presence of faculty members and students. The lecture proved to be highly informative and beneficial for students.
