A VIRTUAL GUEST LECTURE ON INTRODUCTION TO MATLAB BY THE DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL, ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING ON 31 MAY 2021
Department of Electrical, Electronics & Communication Engineering conducted a webinar to benefit its students through video conferencing.
This guest lecture was addressed by Dr. Sumit Kushwaha. Dr. Sumit Kushwaha is working as Assistant Professor in Electronics Engineering Department, Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology, Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He has received Best Young Researcher Award 2018 and Best Young Scientist Award 2019 in Science and Technology. He has published several research papers in various national and international conferences and journals. His research interest is Mathematical and Signal Processing methods applied to Medical Image Problems, Artificial Intelligence, Next Generation Wireless Communication Systems, etc. He has associated with various national and international societies, journals, and others. He is also Editorial Board Team Member and Reviewer of various SCI, SCOPUS, Thomson Reuters Indexed journals and Conferences.
In his session, he discussed about the MATLAB basics and told that MATLAB is a program for doing numerical computation but now MATLAB has been expanded and now has built in functions for solving problems requiring data analysis, signal processing, optimization and several other types of scientific computations. It also contains function for 2D and 3D graphics and animation. Then he discussed the basics of MATLAB screens like command window, current dictionary, workspace and command history. Then he discussed different type of commands and expressions. He also explained some useful MATLAB commands like who, whos, help, lookfor etc. Then he explained MATLAB relational operators. He also described special variables and constants. Then he described MATLAB display formats and different type of examples.

Mr. Arun Gangwar, Mr. Pankaj Tripathi, Dr. Ankur Rai, Ms. Manjari Sharma, Mr. Debanjan Roy, Dr. Sourabh Pathak attended the session along with students of B. Tech. & Diploma (EE/ECE).
