The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Invertis University, Bareilly, successfully organized a Guest Lecture on “Heat Transfer and Its Applications” on 29th January 2026 under the guidance and encouragement of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Umesh Gautam and Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Mr. Parth Gautam. The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of thermal sciences and their real-world engineering applications.

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Alok Ranjan, Assistant Professor, MIT Muzaffarpur, Bihar, who explained the fundamental modes of heat transfer — conduction, convection, and radiation — and their importance in mechanical engineering systems. He discussed practical applications in heat exchangers, power plants, refrigeration and air-conditioning, automobile engines, and renewable energy systems, highlighting the role of thermal management in improving efficiency and safety.

The session also covered modern developments such as cooling technologies, energy-efficient systems, and sustainable thermal solutions. Students actively participated in the interactive discussion and gained valuable insights into industrial applications and research opportunities in thermal engineering.

The lecture proved to be highly informative and beneficial, helping students understand the importance of heat transfer in modern engineering and technological advancements.
