Dialectica: The Debate Series

The Faculty of Law, Invertis University, organized Dialectica: The Debate Series, an Oxford-style debating competition designed to enhance students’ analytical reasoning, argumentative clarity, and socio-legal awareness. The Preliminary and Quarter-Final Rounds were held on 31st October 2025 in M Block, followed by the Final Round on 3rd November 2025 in the Moot Court Hall, AB-3.
Participants debated on two contemporary motions:
- Election Freebies Are a Legitimate Tool of Social Justice.
- Affirmative Action Should Be Based on Economic Status Rather Than Caste.
The Final Round was judged by Dr. Rubina Verma and Dr. Ashal Ilyas, who appreciated the participants’ strong reasoning and structured arguments.
Results:
- Winners: Saudamini Trivedi & Prabhakar Singh
- Runners-up: Sachin Gangwar & Vikram Singh
- Best Speaker (For): Nadir Baig
- Best Speaker (Against): Devansh Agarwal
Verbal mentions were awarded to several outstanding performers across Integrated and LL.B. programs. The event was efficiently coordinated by Mr. Moiz (Convenor) with support from the student organizing team.
The Faculty of Law conveys heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Umesh Gautam, Executive Director Mr. Parth Gautam, and Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Y.D.S. Arya for their constant support and encouragement. Dialectica successfully strengthened students’ debating abilities and legal acumen, marking another enriching academic initiative at Invertis University.
