Events

Event Description

Three Days workshop on Development of Electrical Layout Plan of EHV Grid Substations in AutoCAD Software organized by Department of EE/ECE

This workshop is organized to make the students aware and to learn how an AutoCAD software really works. During this 3-days workshop, they have got the opportunity to gain and developed their technical skills by the learning of AUTOCAD and its various features and commands. The guest speaker for this workshop was Dr. M.P. Sharma, Assistant Engineer (Design) at Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited, Jaipur.

AutoCAD is a commercial software application for 3D and 2D computer - aided design (CAD) and drafting. AutoCAD is used in industry, by architects, project managers, engineers, graphic designers, city planners and other professionals. It was supported by 750 training centers worldwide in 1994.

APPLICATIONS OF AUTOCAD

There is virtually no limit to the kinds of line drawings using AutoCAD. If a drawing can be created by hand, it can be generated by AutoCAD. Here are a few of the applications of the AutoCAD:

  • Architectural drawing of all kinds
  • Interior design and facility planning
  • Work-flow charts and organizational diagrams
  • Proposals and presentations
  • Graphs of all kinds
  • Drawings for electronic, chemical, civil, mechanical, automotive and aerospace engineering applications
  • Topographic maps and nautical charts
  • Yacht design
  • Plots and other representations of mathematical and scientific functions
  • Theater set-lighting designs
  • Musical scores
  • Technical illustrations and assembly diagrams
  • Company logos
  • Greeting cards
  • Line drawings for the fine art

AutoCAD is one of the most widely-used pieces of design software, generating a huge revenue every year. It has been a pioneer of the 3D design industry, having been around for more than 30 years. During that time, it has evolved to become one of the most sophisticated design tools on the market. AutoCAD’s versatile tools and brilliant consumer strategy make it one of the most valuable tools and engineer can have. That’s why you should use it to create your prototypes.

We extend our deep gratitude to the speakers who gave the students a new domain for their expertise and also prepared them from Campus to Corporate. The sessions were proved fruitful under the guidance of Prof. YDS Arya (Vice-Chancellor), Prof. R.K. Shukla (Dean Engineering), Mr. Mon Prakash Upadhyay (HOD, EE/ECE Department), Mr. Pankaj Tripathi, Dr. Ankur Rai and other department faculty members.
