Awareness Campaign on Antimicrobial Resistance

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Invertis University, Bareilly, organized an awareness campaign on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) on 11th February 2026 in collaboration with Dainik Jagran, under the guidance and encouragement of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Umesh Gautam and Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Mr. Parth Gautam. The programme aimed to spread awareness about the growing health risks caused by the misuse of antibiotics and the increasing problem of antimicrobial resistance.

The session was addressed by Dr. Sudeep Saran, Senior Physician, who explained that nearly 40% of medicines are becoming less effective against bacteria due to improper use of antibiotics. He emphasized that taking medicines without proper medical consultation can lead to serious health risks and weaken the effectiveness of treatments.

Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Dean, welcomed the guest and highlighted the importance of such awareness programmes for students. Dr. Lalit Kumar, Head of the Department, along with faculty members and students, actively participated in the session. Students asked questions related to antibiotic use, immunity, and treatment practices, making the session interactive and informative.

The programme concluded with a message encouraging responsible healthcare practices and greater awareness about the safe and proper use of medicines.
