Visit to NIEPVD Dehradun

The Department of Applied Science & Humanities, Invertis University, Bareilly, successfully organized an educational visit to the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD), Dehradun, from 15th to 17th January 2026. Students of B.A. (Hons.) Psychology participated enthusiastically in the visit, accompanied by Ms. Divyanshi Rana and Ms. Anchal Sharma.
During the visit, students explored key functional units of the institute, including the DCRPR OPD, where they gained exposure to diagnostic, counselling, and rehabilitation services for persons with visual disabilities. The Early Intervention Centre provided insights into early assessment and multidisciplinary support for children with visual impairments. Students also visited the Model School, where they observed inclusive classroom practices, use of assistive devices, Braille and low-vision aids, and strategies for creating an enabling learning environment.
The visit enabled students to effectively connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications in assessment, intervention, and inclusive education. This initiative was conducted under the guidance and support of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Umesh Gautam, Pro-Chancellor Mr. Parth Gautam, and Dean, Faculty of Science, Prof. P. P. Singh, reflecting the university’s commitment to holistic and experiential learning.
