The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Invertis University, Bareilly, organized an educational visit to the News18 Network programme “UP Commissionaires Connect” on 21st February 2026 under the guidance and encouragement of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Umesh Gautam. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to live media production and interaction with eminent personalities.

The programme featured distinguished guests including Dr. Umesh Gautam Hon’ble Chancellor Invertis university and mayor Bareilly, Ms. Preeti Jaiswal, and Mr. Ajay Kumar Sahani, making the session highly informative and engaging. The visit was conducted in the presence of Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Dean, Dr. Lalit Kumar, Head of the Department, along with faculty members Dr. Nidhi Gupta and Ms. Yashika Gupta, who guided the students throughout the visit.

During the programme, students observed the working of a live television discussion, learning about anchoring, production coordination, and real-time news presentation. They also interacted with the programme anchor Mr. Vikas Brijesh Saxena and asked questions related to journalism, governance, and public communication.

The visit provided valuable insights into the role of media as a bridge between administration and society. Students learned the importance of factual reporting, effective communication, and practical exposure in building a successful career in journalism. The educational visit proved to be highly informative and enriching for all participants.
