Educational Visit to Jaipur Literature Festival 2026

The Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities, Invertis University, Bareilly, successfully organized an educational visit to the Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) 2026 from 15th to 19th January 2026 for students of B.A. (Hons.) English. The visit aimed to provide students with first-hand exposure to the world’s largest literary festival and to deepen their understanding of literature, culture, and contemporary intellectual thought. The students participated enthusiastically and were accompanied by Ms. Bushra Khanam and Ms. Smita Oli.

During the festival, students attended a wide range of intellectually enriching sessions featuring over 500 national and international speakers across 300+ sessions, including celebrated authors, literary critics, historians, and cultural thinkers. Sessions by eminent writers such as Kiran Desai, Javed Akhtar, Banu Mushtaq, and William Dalrymple offered valuable insights into contemporary literary discourse, creative writing, and global perspectives on literature.

As part of the educational tour, students also explored Jaipur’s rich cultural heritage by visiting Amer Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, and Jal Mahal, along with local markets showcasing traditional crafts and cultural diversity. This holistic experience enhanced students’ literary appreciation, critical thinking, and cultural awareness.

The visit was conducted under the guidance and support of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Umesh Gautam, Pro-Chancellor Mr. Parth Gautam, and Dean, Faculty of Sciences, Prof. P. P. Singh, reflecting the university’s commitment to experiential learning beyond the classroom.
