Alumni Interaction Session with Dr. Amish Kumar Gautam (NASA–Jet Propulsion Laboratory)

The Department of Applied Science & Humanities organized an interaction session with its distinguished alumnus, Dr. Amish Kumar Gautam, on 27th January 2026. Dr. Amish, a Gold Medalist of B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics (Batch 2013–2016), is currently associated with the NASA–Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, USA.
During the session, he interacted with undergraduate and postgraduate students and shared his inspiring journey from a small town to an international research career. He discussed his academic progression after graduation, including qualifying the IIT-JAM examination, completing his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from IIT Delhi, and pursuing postdoctoral research at the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Amish motivated students to remain consistent, learn from failures, maintain a positive peer group, and respect mentors and parents. He also assured students of his continued support for academic guidance and research collaboration.
The interaction was conducted under the guidance of Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Umesh Gautam and Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Mr. Parth Gautam. He appreciated the university’s modern laboratories and incubation facilities, reflecting its commitment to providing world-class academic infrastructure. Prof. P. P. Singh, Dean – Faculty of Science, expressed pride in the achievements of alumni contributing at national and international levels.
The session proved to be highly motivating and enriched students with valuable insights into academic excellence, research opportunities, and global career pathways.
