The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English programme is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of literature, language, and literary theory. It aims to develop students’ critical, analytical, interpretative, and communication skills through a systematic study of literary texts across genres, periods, and cultural contexts.
The curriculum includes poetry, prose, drama, linguistics, literary criticism, composition, creative writing and much more. It also fosters academic writing skills and research aptitude, enabling students to engage critically with texts and theoretical frameworks.
A key feature of the programme is its emphasis on experiential and co-curricular learning. Students participate in theatre performances, literary festivals, magazine release activities, and educational visits, which enrich their understanding of literature through creative, cultural, and practical engagement.
The programme is further strengthened through seminars, workshops, guest lectures, internships, and project-based learning, ensuring holistic academic development and industry readiness.
The programme prepares students for careers in teaching, media, publishing, content writing, advertising, and civil services, while also providing a strong foundation for higher studies in English and related disciplines.

This program exposes the students to literature across the world as a reflection of the society it is born in. It aims to take the students much beyond their little experience of life to wider thoughts, varied perception and experiences to explore wider universal issues for better understanding of themselves and the world around them. It will enable the students to pursue careers in public and private sectors.
