Civil Engineering is a vast field encompassing the scientific and technical knowledge of constructing various civil structures such as roads, highways, bridges, dams, railways, airports, etc. that facilitate the growth and development of society.
The pace with which modern life is advancing necessitates the construction of faster, safer and more efficient infrastructural facilities and civil engineering is at the centre of all these activities.
B Tech in Civil Engineering, offered by the Department of Civil Engineering, is a four-year undergraduate degree programme that deals with imparting theoretical and practical understanding of various aspects of civil engineering. Over the course of four years, students are taught the fundamental principles of core civil engineering subjects such as construction technology, transportation engineering, fluid mechanics, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, soil mechanics, structural engineering and many more.
Theoretical instruction is supplemented by intensive lab work that helps the students understand the practical applications of the topics that they learn in the classroom. In addition, students are also exposed to real-world scenarios through a number of live projects, industry immersion activities, seminars and guest lectures. Our B Tech in Civil Engineering course offers a number of value-added courses including communication skills, soft skills, computer skills, management skills, etc. are built into the curriculum to provide students with a well-rounded education and enhance their employability.
