Dr. Himanshi Mishra is an academician and researcher in the field of Textile and Apparel Design, currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Design at Invertis University. She was awarded her Ph.D. degree by Lucknow University, with her doctoral research focusing on the prevailing status of Chikankari workers after COVID-19 in the Lucknow district. Her research has been widely appreciated for its academic rigor and strong social relevance.
In recognition of her impactful doctoral work, Dr. Mishra received the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award at the 1st International Agriculture Conference (2025). Her research findings have been published in reputed academic journals and presented at both national and international conferences, contributing meaningfully to discussions on traditional crafts, artisan livelihoods, and sustainable fashion practices.
Dr. Mishra has consistently maintained academic excellence throughout her educational journey, securing First Division in all qualifying examinations. She has qualified the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) twice, demonstrating her strong academic foundation and subject expertise. In addition, she holds professional teaching credentials including B.Ed. and CTET, reinforcing her pedagogical competence.
Prior to joining Invertis University, Dr. Mishra gained valuable teaching experience as an Assistant Professor at Hamidiya Girls Degree College and United University, Prayagraj. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes inclusivity, applied learning, and critical engagement with contemporary issues in fashion and textile studies. Through her research and teaching, she remains committed to preserving traditional textile heritage while addressing modern challenges in the fashion industry.
