                                    ONLINE GUEST LECTURE ON TRAITS OF LEADERSHIP WITH EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE BY DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS

 

To enhance knowledge of students, Department of Computer Applications, Invertis University organized an online guest lecture for BCA and B.Sc (CS)-H students on the topic “Traits of Leadership with Emotional Intelligence” on 16 May 2020 by Mr. Mahesh Chandra, Associate Manager, Nucleus Software, Noida.

In his address, he discussed the importance of Emotional Intelligence in leading a software team. He stressed the need for emotional intelligence in leading a software team, so that they can build an effective team. He said that there are differences between a leader and a boss and emphasized that a leader should treat himself/ herself as a team member. Leading a software project is a way of applying the skills and intelligence along with emotions. The key attributes of a leader i.e. Planning, Communication, Decision Making, Delegation, Problem Solving and Motivation, are also very well explained by Mr. Mahesh. To discuss these attributes he presented real life examples. In addition, during the lecture, the students have asked many questions to learn how to control their emotions in daily life; where, when and how to show emotions. Mr. Mahesh suggested that at the end of college life, the students will be a leader in their life where they have to use emotional intelligence to build a good team/ family. He also introduced the participants to many exclusive examples and situations where emotional intelligence can play a vital role. At the end of the guest lecture, two students gave their feedback, and explained how they were benefited by the lecture.
