INDUSTRIAL VISIST OF B.Tech STUDENTS TO ROSA THERMAL POWER PLANT
Industrial Visit of B.Tech students to Rosa Thermal Power Plant on 11/Apr/2019
The students of B.Tech. (Electrical
Engineering/Electronics Communication Engineering), Diploma (Electrical Engineering) and B.Tech. (Mechanical Engineering) visited Rosa Thermal Power Plant at Shahjahnpur
(U.P.) on 10-03-2019 and 11-04-2019.
Rosa Power Plant is a 1,200 MW of coal-based generation capacity at Rosa
village in Shahjahnpur. The coal for the project would be supplied from the
Asoka Coal mines of Central Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India
Limited. The coal mines are located in Jharkhand and the coal will be
transported by Railways over a distance of 870 km. The water required for the
power plant is sourced from Garrah River located a kilometre from the project.
There are four functioning units, all of which are coal-fired thermal power
stations. The prime motive was to make student acquit with Industrial
application along with regular classroom teaching. Students have learned about
the various aspects of boiler, turbine and power evacuations.
Students were accompanied by Mr. Mon Prakash Upadhyay, Mr. Pankaj
Tripathi (Electrical Engineering Department) and Mr. Ajitanshu Mishra, Mr.
Gyanendra Singh (ME Department) and Mr. Ankur Rai (EC Department). The Faculty
of EE/ME wishes to thank Ms. Pragati (Assistant Prof. EE Department) for arranging
this visit. Moreover, the efforts towards making student Industry ready were
