EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS BY BBA AND B.COM DEPARTMENT
25th April, 2019, Department
of BBA & B.COM in co-ordination with CRC Department, organized a guest lecture for the students of BBA 2nd & 3rd
year on “Employability Skills”
by Mr. Anurag Ashok (Zonal Business
Manager, Bareilly Region) from AIRTEL.
lecture focused on all the key skills that are required in today’s era for
being employable. He basically elaborated on how your education and experience
may make you eligible to apply for a job but, to be successful in most roles,
you will need skills that you are likely to develop over time. Some will be
specific to the job, but the vast majority will be so-called ‘soft skills’ that
can be used in any job or employment sectors. These soft skills
are ‘employability skills’: they are what makes you employable.
a general rule, employers are willing to teach someone the job-specific skills
required, such as how to operate particular pieces of machinery, or use
particular computer packages that are very specific to that role or company.
However, they usually want to see that you already have the other ‘soft skills’
before hiring, because they are much harder to teach. Being able to apply for a
job in the right way, shine at interview and getting a job is not a key
The lecture also acquainted students with the
different skills that are required to crack any interview. He also focused on
clarity of anything that you are studying or doing in your life.
Finally, towards the end, students were also made
to do an activity, which refreshed their soul and minds.
We extend our deep gratitude to Mr. Anurag Ashok (Zonal Business
Manager, Bareilly Region) from AIRTEL who really made the students aware of the need of employability skills.
The lecture proved to be fruitful under the guidance of Prof. YDS Arya (Vice-Chancellor), Dr. Manish Gupta (Dean Management),
Dr. Dheeraj Gandhi (HOD, BBA & B.COM), Ms. Shilpi Dixit, Dr. Saurabh
Gupta, Mr. Manmohan Bansal, Ms. Priyanka Awasthi, Ms. Darshneel and Dr. Rahul
Yadav. Also we place on record our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Diggaj Gupta (Senior Executive, CRC Department) for arranging
such knowledge seeking lecture.
