Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering

Intake: 50

  • Program CodePHD-011
  • Duration Min. 3 Years
  • Level Doctoral Programme
  • Department Department of Electrical Engineering
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Advanced Electrical Engineering education and research is becoming increasingly relevant to businesses and industries in the 21st century. The underlying technologies related to electrical and electronic devices, computer networks, and telecommunications systems are fundamental to modern life and will significantly shape the future.

A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering provides students with the opportunity to explore these foundational technologies and pursue research at the cutting edge of the field.

The three-year Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering programme offered by the Department of Electrical Engineering includes in-depth analysis and research of advanced topics in Power System Dynamics, Electrical Drives, Power System Protection, Evolutionary Techniques, Renewable Energy Generation, and Control Systems. Beyond core courses, students are encouraged to explore their own research areas to develop expertise in their field of interest. Students must also prepare and submit a dissertation in their area of specialization for assessment and evaluation.

By earning a doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, graduates will develop the advanced knowledge, critical thinking abilities and skills in problem solving, data analysis, and technical writing that can help them analyze complex problems, suggest innovative solutions and succeed as leaders in their field. With this degree, graduates can pursue high-level teaching, research, and consulting opportunities within academia and industry. Additionally, graduates can pursue careers in engineering management, software development, telecommunications, and IT research.
